VA Disability Rating for Visceroptosis (DC 7342)

Diagnostic Code 7342 · 38 CFR §4.114

What Is It?

Visceroptosis is a condition where the abdominal organs — particularly the stomach, intestines, kidneys, or liver — drop lower than their normal position due to weakness of the supporting tissues and muscles. This downward displacement can cause a dragging sensation in the abdomen, digestive problems, pain that worsens with standing and improves when lying down, and a general feeling of abdominal heaviness. Veterans may develop this from weakened abdominal muscles due to injuries, repeated abdominal surgeries, or significant weight loss during service.
