What Is It?

This code covers partial or complete loss of the tongue from combat injuries, surgical removal (often for cancer), or trauma during military service. The tongue is essential for chewing, swallowing, tasting, and speaking. Even partial loss can significantly impair all of these functions. Veterans who lose tongue tissue due to service-related injuries or cancer treatment may qualify for substantial disability compensation.
