VA Disability Rating for Ureteral Stricture (DC 7511)

Diagnostic Code 7511 · 38 CFR §§4.115a

What Is It?

Ureteral stricture is a narrowing of one or both ureters — the tubes that carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder. This narrowing can restrict urine flow, causing backup pressure on the kidneys and increasing the risk of infections and kidney damage. In veterans, strictures may develop from surgical complications, injuries sustained during service, radiation treatment, or chronic infections. The condition often requires ongoing monitoring and may need repeated procedures to keep the ureter open.
