What Is It?

Laryngeal stenosis is a narrowing of the airway at the level of the larynx (voice box). This can result from intubation injuries, neck trauma, chemical or burn injuries, infections, or surgical complications. The narrowing can range from mild hoarseness to severe breathing restriction requiring a permanent tracheostomy.
