Thigh Flexion Limitation VA Disability Rating

Diagnostic Code 5252 · 38 CFR §4.71a

What Is It?

Limitation of flexion of the thigh means you cannot bend your hip as far as normal. Full hip flexion allows you to bring your knee up toward your chest to about 125 degrees. When flexion is restricted, activities like climbing stairs, getting in and out of vehicles, tying shoes, and sitting in low chairs become difficult or painful. This is one of the most common hip conditions among veterans, often caused by arthritis, labral tears, or injuries sustained during service.
