Muscle Group VI VA Disability Rating

Diagnostic Code 5306 · 38 CFR §4.73

What Is It?

Muscle Group VI consists of the extensor muscles of the elbow, primarily the triceps and anconeus. These muscles straighten the elbow and are essential for pushing movements, bracing yourself with your arms, and any activity requiring you to extend your arm against resistance. Pushing open doors, doing push-ups, and rising from a chair all depend on these muscles. Military injuries to this group result from wounds to the back of the upper arm, triceps tears, and elbow trauma.
